Michael Avenatti is the lawyer for Stormy Daniels, the porn star who sued President Donald Trump about her alleged sexual encounter with him in 2006. Avenatti was again making the rounds on TV news networks last night, specifically on Lawrence O’Donell’s “The Last Word” on MSNBC and Don Lemon’s “CNN Tonight.” On O’Donell’s show, Avenatti expressed some sympathy for Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal lawyer, with whom Daniels also has a lawsuit. It was because he said Trump is rejecting Cohen, as Avenatti predicted months ago he would do, and that Cohen is guilty of unlawful wrongdoing while having a wife and children to whom he is devoted.
Avenatti then compared Donald Trump to the cartoon figure and nursery rhyme “Humpty Dumpty.” Avenatti then recited that well-known nursery rhyme that begins, “Humpty Dumpty sat a wall.” The end of the rhyme is that Humpty Dumpty falls off the wall, is broken, and no one can put him back together. The obvious implication Avenatti was making is regarding the main plank of Donald Trump’s political platform when he campaigned for president–building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Avenatti is predicting that Trump’s demise will be similar to that of Humpty Dumpty.
