Invincible Trump Gets COVID-19

Invincible Trump Gets COVID-19 2020-10-03T19:40:22-07:00

Although I have heavily criticized President Donald Trump many times in my blog posts, I sincerely pray always that the man have a significant emotional experience (SEE) leading to genuine repentance of his sins and true faith in God. And so, despite Trump now having COVID-19, I have not changed about that. I wish him well with his physical health, but especially with his spiritual health.

The Washington Post‘s celebrated biographer of president, Bob Woodward, who was very significant in exposing President Nixon in Watergate, has written an expose of Trump regarding COVID-19, charging him with lying to the American public about it when he rightly knew it was a very deadly, transmittable disease. Woodward taped all nineteen telephone interviews with Trump, at Trump’s approval. In one such interview, Woodward told Trump he was taking a very high risk by exposing himself to getting COVID-19 with his refusal to wear a mask, do social distancing, etc. Woodward then asked Trump, “Are you worried about that?”

Trump answered, “No, I’m not. I don’t know why I’m not.”

Well, all he had to do was ask a psychiatrist to find out. Trump thought he was invincible in contracting this coronavirus disease because of his megalomania due to his classical narcissistic personality.

Yet, I must say, as clear-thinking people surely now witness, President Trump looks even more foolish for having constantly and publicly dismissed this coronavirus disease for months as “nothing,” that it would go away “soon,” “like a miracle,” and now he has contracted it. It is a very deadly and transmittable disease. In the U.S., nearly 3% of those people known to have contracted COVID-19 have died. Yet President Trump is more vulnerable to dying from this disease, or deriving lasting health complications from it, because of multiple factors. Most of these factors are now being widely reported by the media. But one has not, and I believe it is the most important in Trump’s case.

First, President Trump is 74 years old. The older you are, the more susceptible you are to getting COVID-19 and being harmed by it or even dying.

Second, President Trump is obese. Obese people are at much greater risk of contracting COVID-19 and sustaining lasting repercussions from it, including death.

Third, President Trump has high cholesterol, and he takes medication for it. High cholesterol is another contributing factor to getting COVID-19, and, of course, high cholesterol contributes toward obesity.

Fourth and finally, President Trump has arteriosclerosis. It is the most common heart disease, especially of elderly people, in which calcium as plaque builds up on the inner walls of arteries, thereby choking of the flow of blood to the heart. It is the result of a poor diet, heavy in fats, and the lack of exercise. I suspect that this could be the main culprit for Trump. Why? COVID attacks the heart. A person with serious arteriosclerosis is especially vulnerable to contracting COVID-19 and being permanently harmed by it.

People who have significant amounts of plaque in their arteries should get tested for that regularly and try to alter their lifestyle to reduce it. Donald Trump has had a coronary calcium CT scan of his arteries multiple times in the past several years. The higher the score, the high the prevalence of plaque contributing to heart disease. In 2008, his CT scan revealed the number 33; in 2013, it was 98. In 2018, his CT scan was 133, signifying that he had moderate heart disease. President Trump’s doctor then told him to change his diet by eating less fat in order to reduce his cholesterol. He also told Trump to exercise. I don’t think Trump has done either, and if it took that scan now, the number likely would be higher.

I once blogged with the title, “Trump Is Dumber than a Stick.” I did not mention in that post about Donald Trump’s strange theory about exercise. When Trump started his political campaign for president, in 2015, The New York Times wrote, “Trump said he was not following any special diet or exercise regimen for the campaign. ‘All my friends who work out all the time, they’re going for knee replacements, hip replacements — they’re a disaster,’ he said. He exerts himself fully by standing in front of an audience for an hour, as he just did. ‘That’s exercise,'” he said.

Oh yeah! Tell that to professional athletes. (Most people who read my blog regularly know I was a tournament-winning professional golfer on the PGA Tour. I did that full time for thirty years. Look how Tour players are now exercising. Back in the 1970s, only my friend and superstar Gary Player and I were predicting this would happen, with much of being weight lifting in the gym. We were laughed at by almost everyone, including our colleagues. We now have the last laugh.)

In 2017, The Washington Post‘s Mike Kranisch and Marc Fisher wrote about Trump’s exercise theory in their book, Trump Revealed. They said, “After college, after Trump mostly gave up his personal athletic interests, he came to view time spent playing sports as time wasted. Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn’t work out.”

What! I guess Donald Trump didn’t know that most batteries can re-energized simply by charging them with electricity. Has he never driven a Tesla?

The Mayo Clinic says a person with a calcium coronary CT scan score exceeding 100 has “a relatively high risk of heart attack or other heart disease over the next three to five years.” I suspect that Trump’s heart disease is his main risk factor with COVID-19.
