The Walt Disney cartoon character Mickey Mouse goes into the public domain today, but only the above image in the animated cartoon Steamboat Willie. That was the first time Walt Disney brought forth his famous cartoon that guaranteed his new and fledgling Disney Studio would be successful, and oh how successful it became!
