Trump Is in Free Fall

Trump Is in Free Fall 2025-12-18T23:48:16-07:00

It is as I predicted in my book, Bible Predicts Trump Fall. This book is mostly an anthology of 200 posts—each about 1.5 pages in length—on my Kermit Zarley Blog from the time that Donald Trump began his first campaign for the U.S. presidency, in the summer of 2015, to his exit from the White House in early 2021. The first and last chapters are much longer. The introductory first chapter provides mostly a family history of how Donald Trump became the man that he did. The closing chapter highlights details leading to his two House impeachments and the Capital riot. In between, the book often contrasts what Trump says with what the Bible’s wisdom literature says, especially the sayings of Jesus.

I Was Critical of My Fellow Evangelicals

Many times in this book I oppose my fellow evangelical Christians who helped put Donald Trump in the White House. I do so by alleging that they have been deceived, duped by a master con man whose character and life has been quite the opposite of values that evangelicals have claimed as their own. This has rightfully brought heavy criticism from the world against evangelicalism.

“I Wish No Ill Toward Donald J. Trump”

But I was not wishing for Donald Trump to fall. I conclude the book by saying, “As I concluded in this book’s preface, I wish no ill toward Donald J. Trump, but only what the apostle Paul says of God—’not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance’ (2 Peter 3.9). Yet I believe in justice.” And the main reason I wrote the book was to show that the Bible can be believed about what it says will happen to people who conduct themselves as Donald Trump has. That is, these Bible texts show that God’s word recorded in the Bible can be trusted as a demonstration that he exists.

Is Trump in a Worse Fall than Before?

It now seems that as we approach President Donald Trump’s first annual anniversary of his second presidency, almost every day he suffers rebuke from most of America from something new that comes to light. Tomorrow could be a big day for that. Trump signed off on the Justice Department releasing its Epstein files tomorrow. Trump and his Republicans had tried to prevent this from happening, since it will include more details that will expectedly embarrass the president.

Last night, President Trump delivered an 18-minute, televised message to America that he called for. Many thought it would be about his intentions regarding his opposition to Venezuela and its President Nicolas Maduro, possibly even an attack on the nation since Trump has built up a naval presence offshore and declared an oil embargo. But no, Trump’s speech said nothing about that. Instead, it was a rant that sped up until he was practically yelling at the cameras used in filming. He uttered one lie after another in defense of his record this year as president. Critics said it was a sign of his feelings of desperation regarding the failures of his policies and behaviors.

Why did President Trump call for his Year-End speech last night to America? It seems that his motive was to try to reassure the nation of the value of his presidency. But it’s timing may indicate that he was doing to this to try to counter the seemingly bad expose of him that will result from the Epstein files to be made public tomorrow.

My Sayings about Trump in My Trump Book

Here are some of the things I wrote on my blog that I included in my Trump book:

“I think Donald Trump is a big bag of hot air ready to blow up like the Hindenburg blimp if he becomes U.S. president.”—May 20, 2016.

“I think he’ll bring America down, not Make America Great Again.”—June 1, 2016

“The arrogant, egotistical Donald Trump, … is constantly trumpeting his own self. Biblical wisdom says, ‘Let another praise you, and not your own mouth’ (Provers 27.2). It also says, ‘When pride comes, then comes disgrace’ (Proverbs 11.2).”—June 12, 2016.

“I think Trumpgate will make Watergate look like a Sunday school picnic.”—July 22, 2018.

Conclusion

When I finished this book and published it in mid-2022, I thought that would be the end of Trump’s fall. Now, it’s looking like it could be worse.
