Ebola Is Spreading in The Democratic Republic of Congo

On very short notice, the extremely deadly Ebola virus is spreading in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. It kills about half of the people who contract it. Deputy director of the World Health Organization, Alan Gonzales, says it is spreading faster than any previous case of Ebola, and he called it “deeply alarming.”

The U.S. Has Imposed Travel Bans Due to this Outbreak of Ebola

Containing Ebola is very difficult. Ebola patients should be isolated in hospitals. People contract it mostly by touching other humans or animals who have the virus. Ebola is a relatively newly discovered virus that has never been widely disbursed so far. But its high rate of death is so worrisome that people should be careful about it. The U.S. is requiring people traveling from the Congo to the U.S. to first be quarantined outside the U.S. to make sure they do not have Ebola before entering the U.S.

About Ebola in my COVID-19 Book

If all humans practiced the Jews’ kosher food laws, there might not be any Ebola outbreaks among humans. I have a section about Ebola in my book about this subject entitle Moses Predicted COVID-19 as follows:

“Ebola is a virus first discovered in 1976 in the town of Nzara in South Sudan, Africa. It more forcefully spread in the nearby village of Yambuku in the Democratic Republic of Congo near the Ebola River, from which it derived its name. Ebola symptoms occurred in this order: fever, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting, and internal bleeding. The mortality rate was very high, being on average 50% of those who contracted it. Also called Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), epidemiologists remain uncertain of its origin. They think it was transmitted to humans from the blood of primates (chimps, gorillas, and monkeys) and bats.

“The WHO reports that since Ebola of 1976, twenty-four outbreaks of Ebola occurred mostly in Africa through 2013 that resulted in a total of nearly 1,600 deaths. But each genetic sequencing differed. The worst Ebola outbreak of all occurred in 2014 to 2016. It killed almost 12,000 people, mostly in West Africa where it originated. It is believed that this Ebola originated from bats that roosted in a cotton factory. Only two people died from this Ebola in the U.S., and both had contracted it previously in West Africa. Authorities claim that Ebola spreads especially because of low-quality health systems.

Contracting Ebola from Humans, Bats and Pigs

“People contract Ebola only by person-to-person exposure to their body fluids, mostly by means of blood, feces, and vomit. It has been much less from airborne droplets. Thus, human-to-human transmission of Ebola is rare. People usually contract Ebola from animals, mostly infected pigs and somewhat from fruit bats. Animals can become infected with Ebola by eating fruit partially eaten by fruit bats that have the virus. So, bats are believed to be the primary origin of Ebola, with pigs as the main host reservoir. Humans likely contract Ebola mostly from infected pigs coughing and/or sneezing. No wonder we have the expression ‘hog’s breath.’

I Met the Owner of Hog’s Breath—Clint Eastwood

“That reminds me of movie star Clint Eastwood. He founded, and owned for decades, the Hog’s Breath Inn restaurant in Carmel, California, where he lived. I met Eastwood once at the Pebble Beach Golf Shop during the PGA Tour’s Bing Crosby Pro-Am. I forget what year it was. Many celebrities loved to play in that tournament. I should have told Clint that he ‘made my day.'”
