Translation, 1 Kings 19 February 23, 2005

And announced ?Achav to ?Iyzevel all which did ?Eliyyahu

And all which he killed all the prophets by the sword.
And send ?Iyzevel an angel to Eliyyahu saying,
?Thus may the Elohim do
And thus may they add
If according to the time tomorrow
I set your soul according to the soul of one of them.?E
And he saw, and he arose, and he went/walked to/for his soul
And he entered Be?er Sheva?Ewhich [is] to Yehudah
And he rested his lad there.
Now he himself walked/sent in the wilderness way a day
And he entered and he sat under one broom tree.
And he asked his soul to die
And he said,
?Enough, now, Yahweh.
Take my soul.
For not good I myself from my fathers.?E
And he lay down and he slept under the one brook tree.
Now see this!
An angel touching on him
And he said to him.
?Arise, eat.?E
And he gazed and see!
From his head a baked-thing of live coals
And a small-jar of water.
And he ate and he drank and he returned and he lay down.
And returned the angel of Yahweh a second time
And he touched on him
And he said,
?Arise, eat.
For enough/great from you [is] the way.?E
And he arise and he ate and he drank and he went/walked
In the strength of this eating forty days and forty evenings,
Until he mount of the Elohim, Chorev.
And he entered there to a cave.
And he remained there
Now see! Word of Yahweh to him, and he said to him,
?Why to you here, ?Eliyyahu?
And he said,
?Jealous I am jealous to Yahweh, Elohim of Hosts
For forsaken Your covenant have the sons of Yisrael
Your altars they have torn
And your prophets they have murdered with the sword.
And I remain, I myself alone.
And they seek my soul to take her.?E
And he said,
?Go out and stand on the mountain before Yahweh.?E
Now see! Yahweh passing through
And Spirit-wind, great and strong
Tearing away the mountains
And breaking-in-pieces the rocks before the face of Yahweh.
But not in the Spirit-wind [was] Yahweh.
And after the Spirit-wind, quaking ?E
Not in earthquake Yahweh.
And after quaking, fire
Not in fire Yahweh.
And after the fire voice of silent cessation.
And it was according to the hearing of ?Eliyyahu
And he wrapped his face in his splendid-mantle
And he went forth and he stood at the opening of the cave
Now see! To him a voice, and he said,
?Why to you here, ?Eliyyahu??E
And he said,
?Jealous I am jealous to Yahweh ?Elohim of hosts.
Forsaken your covenant have the sons of Israel
Your altars they have torn
And your prophets they have murdered with the sword.
And I remain, I myself alone.
And they seek my soul to take her.?E
And said Yahweh to him,
?Go, return to your way from the wilderness of Dammaseq
And you enter and you anoint Chaza?el to king over ?Aram.
And Yehu?Eson of Nimshiy you anoint to king over Yisrael.
And ?Eliysha?Eson of Judgment from Rock of the Circle-Dance
Anoint to prophet in your place.
And it will be the one saved from the sword of Chaza?el
Shall Yehu?Ecause-to-die.
And the one saved from the sword of Yehu?E
Shall ?Eliysha?Ecause-to-die.
And I will cause-to-remain in Yisrael seven thousands
All the knees which have not bent-the-knee to Ba?al
And every mouth which has not kissed to him.?E
And he went/walked from there
And he found ?Eliysha?Eson of Judgment
Now he was plowing twelve acres before him,
Now he in the twelfth.
And passed through ?Eliyyahu to him and threw his splendid-mantle to him.
And he forsook the oxen and ran after ?Eliyyahu and he said,
?I will kiss, please, to my father and to my mother
And I will walk after you.?E
And he said to him,
?Go/walk. Return.
For what did I do to you??E
And he returned from after him
And he took the pair of oxen and he slaughtered them
And boiled their flesh with the implements of the oxen
And he gave to the people and they ate.
And he arose and walked after ?Eliyyahu.
And he served him.
