Was My Prediction for 2024 Accurate?

Was My Prediction for 2024 Accurate? December 12, 2024

Was my prediction for 2024 accurate? It was. At the beginning of the year, I wrote a blog entitled “2024 is Going to be a Gr8 Year.” Notice the Gr8 part. That blog post was based on the tarot card associated with 2024, which was the Strength card. I was not trying to imply that this year was going to be amazing. It is hard to make such a claim when Strength is the card representing the entire year.

Where did We Find Strength?

To find the tarot card that represents 2024, we are only going to focus on the major arcana portion of the tarot deck. Although there are 22 cards, they are numbered 0-21. When you do the math to get the number correspondence for the card, you will want a number between 1 and 22. It is impossible to get a 0 when you are adding numerical values higher than 0 together. To compensate for not being able to have 0 as a number, if your final number is 22, then that means The Fool card, card number 0, is the card for the year.

We are going to add the individual numbers of the year together to get a total number. This year is 2024. We will add 2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 8. That gives us 8 as the numerology number for the year and tells us which tarot card corresponds to 2024. In the Rider Waite Smith tradition of tarot, card number 8 is The Strength card. The Crowley Thoth tarot moves some of the major arcana cards around, and number 8 in the Thoth deck is Adjustment or Justice. I am not familiar with the Thoth system and therefore cannot add it to this discussion. However, the Adjustment card still sounds somewhat appropriate.

It’s Been a Challenging Year

I wrote that 2024 was likely to be a challenging year. And I believe it has been. I also wrote that 2024 could be an important year for the world. And I believe it has been. Is the re-election of Trump the end of the world as we know it? I don’t know. That’s giving him too much power and putting too little faith in the rest of the world.

The Strength card was certainly a warning. We were going to need our strength to get through the year. But as I say to my clients, it is also a reminder. We have survived every day of our lives and everything that has been thrown at us. We are strong. We have the fortitude and strength to get through this, and whatever else is next. Sometimes, it is helpful to be reminded of that.

Strength Through Mercury Retrograde and The Holidays

2024 is not quite over yet. We still have a bit of time left in the Strength card. The holidays are often hectic. People’s tempers flare, things don’t go as planned (especially with this Mercury retrograde taking us into 2025). It never hurts to reach for your inner strength during such an emotional and busy time of year.

Next year’s card is The Hermit. The Hermit tells us that the best of way of knowing ourselves and our inner truths is to be by ourselves and retreat from the noise of the outer world to hear what’s within. It is about finding wisdom from our experiences and finding spiritual enlightenment. The Hermit card can represent the act of regaining one’s individual authority and acting with integrity. I see many of these themes happening in 2025 for us as a collective. And we will get into the Hermit card more next month.

For now, ground and shield. Mercury might be in retrograde but the Strength card is still with us. We can handle the rest of 2024.
