Faith in a Time of Pandemic – Let God’s Light Shine on Us

XCII
Let God’s Light Shine on Us
(6/27)
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us. (Psalm 67:1; read entire Psalm 67.)

One of my favorite praise songs is “Shine, Jesus, Shine,” celebrating God’s filling our world and lives with light in a world of darkness. God’s light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot defeat it. In God’s light, we see light and find our way through the valley of the shadow. God’s light illumines our lives, inspiring to the light of the world and let our light shine.

When God’s face shines on us, the Psalmist delights in discovering a way through the wilderness. When God’s face shines on us, we are at home in the world despite all the challenges we face.
There is light and grace amid the storms of Coronavirus. The virus will force us to change our behaviors, travel plans, and congregational activities for the foreseeable future. But, we are not alone and without light. God’s light is our guidepost and we will find our way.

Let us turn to the light of God today, letting it guide, illumine, and warm. Let us embrace God’s grace to give us strength to face life’s challenges. God’s face shines us and gives us peace.

Listen to this pandemic virtual choir, and let God raise you up, let those who love you raise you up, let creation raise you up….we will insist and persist as we look toward a day of peace and justice…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d48vRYXe-DA

Shine on us, Loving God, and give us guidance and peace. Amen.
