Peace Like a River… Starring Bad Santa?

Wow. Leif Enger’s gorgeous novel Peace Like a River is going to be a movie starring Billy Bob Thornton.

I am giddy about this news. Thornton will be great in this role. Now, let’s all pray they find some equally talented young actors to play his children.

When I read this book, the whole time I was thinking “Robert Redford is going to make this movie. It has the feel of grace that runs through A River Runs Through It.”

Instead, the guy who everybody said looked like a young Redford in A River Runs Through It is going to get the movie made (at least as the producer.) Who’s gonna direct? I vote for David Gordon Green or Jacob Aaron Estes.
