VIDEO: Did LeBron James Diss a Fan Wearing ‘Make America Great Again’ Hat?

Remember when it was okay to express your political opinion without being harangued on national television? 

Me either.

In Game 3, NBA star LeBron James seemed to diss a fan of his who had the temerity to wear the iconic “Make America Great Again” hat.  The Daily Wire has the story:

Instead of tossing his towel, which is a typical souvenir for game-goers, to a nearby fan, the Cleveland Cavalier appears to snub the man in the red hat by intentionally tossing the towel just out of his reach. In the video clip that has gone viral, James even appears to fake-out the fan by motioning like he was going to give him the towel. The Trump supporter raises his hands to receive it before James tosses it in the other direction.

Wow.  That’s really classy.  Is James trying to tell the half of America who voted for Trump that he doesn’t want them to be NBA fans? Well, I guess he’s already insulted Trump voters enough. Remember in September when he said that Trump voters were ignorant. And I quote: “I don’t think a lot of people was educated.”

Even if we give him the benefit of the doubt on whether or not he intentionally was being rude to the #MAGA hat wearing fan, the lefties are celebrating James as if he were Rosa Parks.

Left-wing site “The Root” wrote:

“An old white man wearing the new Ku Klux Klan hood of 2018, aka a red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, held his hand to ask James for his sweat-soaked towel. James looked at the man and then threw the towel beyond his reach. … James will never be here for your white nationalist, tiki-torch-wielding, white supremacy bullshit.”

Wow.  The MAGA hat is now the new hood?  That’s a pretty big intellectual stretch.  But they weren’t the only liberal celebrants.  Social media was abuzz with the supposed slight.

I don’t know about you, but seeing a superstar diss an everyday American exercising his free speech rights isn’t great marketing.  Maybe part of “making America great again” is to actually recognize each other as human beings.
