In another “We have no King but Caesar” moment for the American Catholic academe, Georgetown covers up that tacky and embarrassing IHS symbol so that the glory of the One might be unrivaled by other Powers.
People reply, “Don’t you think you’re making too much of such symbolism?” I reply, “A religious system is *nothing but* a symbol system (humanly speaking).” The symbolism of this gesture speaks volumes about the priorities of the current administration at Georgetown.
