When it comes to consequentialists, you can always find some nut who will insult the sacraments of God in order to score point for their worship of Moloch. Erica Jong, for instance, famously said that if men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.
Appalling. And we all know that no Faithful Conservative Catholic would ever say something so blasphemous. So when a guy emerges from the small phalanx of torture defenders over in the Inside Catholic comboses to say:
Natural law has written on my heart that if St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas were to witness the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the waterboarding of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, they would conclude that waterboarding is closer to Baptism than torture.
…that’s not desecration of baptism or anything.
The wingnut Right is going to be in the desert a *long* time till these crazy people are finally gone.
