One of the many incoherencies in atheism… 2015-01-01T14:56:16-07:00

…is the tendency to substitute tones of voice for actual thought. It’s what goes with substituting worship of the intellect for use of the intellect. So, for instance, not a few atheists imagine they’ve scored a crushing victory when they switch from saying, in a warm, boastful tone of worldly wise superiority “Atheist moral are arbitrary and subjective” to saying, in a cold, contemptuous tone “Religious morals are arbitrary and subjective.”

The notion seems to be “Well, at least we admit it so that makes it good.” But, of course, the question that remains unanswered is “Who decides it’s “good”?” To which the only reply is “Me. Because I desire to say I’m better than you.”

In which case I wonder, “Why go to all the trouble of arguing then? Why not just make a declaration of your superiority at the get go and then declare that you don’t have to explain why you are superior to anybody.” It’s a strategy that works well for people who have not advanced in emotional maturity past the age of three the world over.
