Prayer requests

For Ryan Barrett and his family. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

And a reader writes:

I have a prayer request for you and your readers. I’m a youth minister in Northeast Wisconsin, and I’m so lucky to do what I do! This past week I had a long conversation with a high school student. He’s not a local parishioner so I don’t see him during the year for religious education or youth ministry, but we had a great talk nonetheless. As we talked I discovered that this young man and several of his friends have been dabbling pretty heavily in Wiccan practices. I tried to gently/lovingly but firmly articulate that messing with that kind of thing is not a good idea, but I’m worried at him. Could you please ask your readers (and their guardian angels and patron saints!) to pray for these high schoolers?

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
