I had a conversation yesterday with a couple of friends about home schooling our kids faith formation, and thought of all people you would have a good opinion to share. My five kids (yes, I know what causes that, I do have a TV and a hobby, etc, etc) participate in the faith formation program at our parish. It’s fine but I’m wondering if I can find a curriculum to follow and cover it at home. Obviously the Catechism would be good to follow, but I hope you know what I’m looking for.

Any suggestions or resources out there to look into?

I’m afraid we’ve never used an organized program. I’ve taught the guys about Scripture and done general catechesis based on my knowledge of the Catechism and the liturgy. And, of course, Jan has had the guys read the lives of various saints, as well as our family’s daily prayers (usually taken from Magnificat).

I’m sure there are good programs out there and have a notion I’ve seen stuff from Ignatius press. But I really don’t know much detail. Maybe some readers could help?
