A friend writes to tell me that First Things….

has released another joint Catholic/Evangelical declaration called “Do Whatever He Tells You — A Statement of Evangelicals and Catholic Thought”. It’s on the Blessed Virgin Mary and marks another moment in the ongoing sea change that is taking place in the Evangelical re-assessment of Our Lady in the life of the Church and of the individual Christian. It’s not online yet but I’m sure it will be. This sort of thing is, in no small part, why I wrote Mary, Mother of the Son. I’m delighted to see it! Mother Mary, may all Christians come to honor you as we were commanded by our Lord when he said, “Behold your Mother!”
