I am in a graduate level class on Western Classics (Homer, Socrates, Virgil, Dante, Shakespeare). As is the tendency in lots of institutions of higher education, there’s a strong bent of liberalism and, in some cases, hostility toward Catholicism. Some of the additional sources we’ve been given are – how shall we say it? – biased toward certain points of view. If you, dear readers, know of any good sources of criticism on medieval religion – especially with regards to “gender issues” – I’d be grateful.
