…why do I have any obligation to listen to another word they say? I mean, the notion that Catholic social teaching is basically pro-communist is just so spectacularly unthinking, so utterly beholden to the regurgitation of dumb boilerplate from the upper echelons of The Thing That Used to Be Conservatism, that you don’t even know where to start. It so far off it’s not even wrong. And, of course, its the Evil Mirror Universe image of mindless boilerplate progressive dissent in it breezy confidence that you can simply declare “Catholic Social Teaching” to “wrong” without any definitions, distinctions, or discussion. If it challenges the slogans of some talking head on Fox it’s just “wrong” and we can ignore it.
