Prayer Requests December 30, 2009

A reader writes:

I am on a business trip about six hours from home. It’s around 2 am local time, and just received a call from family that my brother-in- law has had a serious car wreck and is being taken by life-flight to the hospital. I ask your prayers for him and if you find the time to post this, the prayers of your readers. I ask the Blessed Virgin to bring him to Our Father in prayer, and that God have mercy on him.

Father, hear our prayer for this man and all who love him and are responsible for his care through your Son Jesus Christ. Grant him complete healing by the power of the Holy Spirit. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for him!

Another reader writes:

I would like to make a prayer request for the families of the officers who so recently were brutally murdered in Seattle, Lakewood and Eatonville. I am a Seattle Police Officer and can only say that this has hit all of our brothers and sisters very hard over the past two months. Worse yet is the fact that so many children have lost a parent – 13 kids won’t see their mom or dad walk through the door again. This seems like a very dark time indeed and I would like to ask for strength especially for the families and also for fellow officers to be able to go on, to keep the light alive and to keep up the good fight.

Father, receive the souls of those who have been slain protecting us and grant that, by the Sword of St. Michael, the enemy would no longer be allowed to prey on our police here in Washington. Mother Mary, pray for all who have died and all those who love them, especially their children. We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
