Does anyone else think it’s stupid and hypocritical for people (like Drudge) to make such a big, titillating deal out of Tiger Woods’ adultery? This always ticks me off: we live in a culture that GLORIFIES infidelity, spur-of-the-moment extramarital sex, and pornography, but the minute someone in the public sphere goes out and ACTS on all the garbage the Media is pumping out, then it’s suddenly a holier-than-thou fest. We saw this with the Left when Palin’s daughter had an illegitimate child. Almost no one on the Left would object to teenagers having sex. What they probably objected to most was the conception of a child. Just another example of the Libertine Left turned Political Prude anytime it’s electorally convenient. And it’s no different when people rejoice with glee over the fall of a man like Tiger Woods, who has shown himself a weak sinner and a bad husband, and therefore sinful and human just like any one of us. Celebrities need our prayers a lot more than they need our chattering, either liberal or conservative.
Just thought I’d beef to somebody who’d agree. 🙂
Yeah. But then that’s Standard Operating Procedure for Satan. And, of course, while he’s beating up on Woods, he’s filling us plump Pharisaic suburbanites with the thought, “I thank you, O Lord, that I am not like other men, or even like this golfer here. I’m an upstanding and decent person. I work hard and play by the rules. I’m Alright, Jack!”
