A reader writes:

I was raised Southern Baptist and through a series of strange turns and coincidences (involving John Paul II and C.S. Lewis to name a few) over the last two and a half years I found myself curious about, interested in, intrigued by, surprised by, fascinated by, and finally attracted to the Catholic Church. I will be received into the Church on Easter, and after hearing such rave reviews of your trilogy on Mary I decided to check it out so that I can hopefully get a better handle on this area. It’s something that I’m learning to accept based on the authority of the Church but would like to have a better idea of the logic and reason behind it, along with the usual worries about it distracting from Christ, taking away from Christ’s sufficiency, not being present in early Christianity, etc. I’ve started reading the first chapter tonight and have thoroughly enjoyed it. You perfectly captured the way an evangelical perceives Catholics and their attitudes towards Mary, and the book is very funny as well. So thanks!

However, I must say I was slightly taken aback by the return label on the package you mailed: a picture of autumn leaves with a rather innocuous looking address. For a Lord of Darkness with Hordes of Minions, I was frankly expecting something a little more sinister: littered skulls or forbidding wasteland or Dick Cheney or something. And I expected your address to be something more along the lines of “Fortress 2, Pits of Despair Level 496”. Just something you may want to look into. : )

Thanks again!

We Dark Lords (or is Dork Lards?) are very busy spinning our strategems and webs of malice and intrigue and don’t have a lot of time for burnishing our image. But I will give your suggestion some thought. Hmmmm…. perhaps more skulls…..
