On Tuesday and Thursdays… 2014-12-31T15:52:30-07:00

American laity are smart, tough and independent thinkers who don’t need some clergyman to tell them what to think about abortion, sex, gay marriage, exciting liturgical innovations, sex, lay-run parishes, sex, and sex.

On Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays, Saturdays and especially Sundays, American laity are hopelessly helpless sheep who will break down in sobbing confusion if the Roman Missal translation is published and the liturgy starts to, you know, be said in the form that it actually has before the evil geniuses at ICEL are finished draining the life blood out of it.

Fr. Michael Ryan, pastor at Seattle’s very own St. James Cathedral is emphatically a MWFSS kinda guy and is laboring with might main to defend the helpless flock from the onslaught of an accurate and beautiful liturgy in accord with Rome’s wishes. Standing on the front line of the last gasp of Generation Narcissus, he is fighting a rear guard action to stop Benedict XVI from making the liturgy be less Pepsi Generation and more Catholic.

Meanwhile, some of the laity are doing that whole Tuesday Thursday independent and feisty thang and voicing support for the new translation by signing this petition.

If you are one of those non-helpless laity who don’t feel the need for Fr. Ryan to protect you from good liturgy, feel free to sign.
