Nice to See

With all the hysteria from our political classes and the continual and constant counsels of fear, panic, and despair from the Things That Used to be Liberalism and Conservatism, it’s nice to hear the Anchoress reiterating the sound counsel of Pope John Paul II: Be not afraid.

I am beginning to think that, in the present hour, the devil’s preferred method of motivation is fear and panic. This is a strategy change from the days of my youth, when the main message was “Do whatever you feel like and don’t worry about the consequences.” Now it’s “Do whatever you feel like in order to keep yourself safe from the awful awful terrible things that are flitting about in your terrorized imagination.”
