Prayer Request

A reader writes:

Hi Dark Lord,

Will you ask your readers to pray for the Catholic Church here in Denmark? A politician wants to “force” (?) priests to report sexual abuse of children, even if it is something they learn of in the confessional. People here have little to no knowledge or understanding of the Church or Her sacraments (it’s a Lutheran country) and regardless of how it plays out legislatively, it’s going to make for some grim press.

I hate being right all the time.
Father, hear our prayer as Caesar uses our sins to attack what you have given us. Have mercy on us and help us to use this attack to purge Church of the evil that we have too long tolerated, both in our clergy and amongst ourselves. Defend her in battle that the sacrament of reconciliation be preserved and protected. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen. Mother Mary, pray for us!
