Andrew Sullivan knew? Of course he knew!!!!!

A reader writes:

Thought you might point out the irony about Sullivan’s post recently about Transcendental Meditation.
The priest, Father Dubi, whose endorsement he enjoys turns out to have been implicated in a sex abuse case in the Chicago archdiocese.

The point being that Andrew is quick to assume the worst of Benedict or any one else and assume they knew much more than they did, even without evidence. Whereas here he’s touting part of the problem. And we’re to believe Andrew doesn’t know this priest’s dubious past? (Of course he doesn’t but he rarely grants that benefit of doubt to others).

When you are a Righteous Crusader, you don’t need evidence, just a good loud voice.

Oh sure. Sullivan’s going to say he “didn’t know”. That’s what they all say! He might even (finally) come clean and call for this pervert’s resignation in order to distance himself from the Scandal while he gets off scot free. Who are we going to listen to, somebody who supports and advertises for pervert priests? Or The Children? Destroy Andrew Sullivan!!! For The Children! Destroy the Church! For the Children!

Boy! Righteous mob rage is a *rush*! And you don’t need all that tedious crap about evidence or knowing what you are talking about! Fun!
