this was heroic martyrdom. The Turkish bishop who was murdered by yet another apostle of the Religion of Peace deliberately stayed home from seeing the Pope in Cyprus because he feared his driver would try to murder the Pope. The man then murdered him.
“Why didn’t he get rid of the guy?” Dunno. Why did Jesus deliberately go to Jerusalem when he knew it was dangerous. It’s like he loved the guy or something and hoped for his redemption.
