A single mother and her now adult son, who we have known for many years, are in some deep trouble: About a year ago, mom stopped taking the psych meds she needs to stay even marginally functional and become a meth addict, son has not been able to do anything with his life except enable his mom’s often bizarre behavior. Now, after wasting her life savings away, they are homeless. They have burned through the good will of a number of friends (during her many medicated years, she was often charming, and picked up many friends, including us) and are now trying to impose on us. So please pray for them, and pray that we do the right thing as well. So far, I’ve refused to let them sleep at our house, because we have young children, and, like any addict, she will lie to get whatever she thinks she needs, and son will cover for her – that’s the very least craziness I could expect, could be much worse. My wife and I feel bad, thinking that they’re sleeping on the street or in a car, but, so far, I feel it my first duty to protect my kids. It feels wrong not to house the homeless as Jesus commanded, but this seems more complicated. Thanks.

Would you be so kind as to post this prayer request?
My uncle is a wonderful man, and, at 71, much too young to leave his children and grandchildren. I pray that it is God’s Will that he recover.
Father, hear our prayer for both of these situations, that your will would be done in accord with your wisdom and love for all concerned. Mother Mary, pray for them! We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ!
