Rosary for Priests, a group of laity formed for the purpose of spiritually supporting our Cathoic priests, announces its “Rosary for Priests” prayer effort for June 19, 2010 at 10-10:30am in front of the Cathedral in San Francisco and in other dioceses.
Calling itself a “love letter from the laity,” Rosary for Priests is organizing public rosaries on the steps of cathedrals at 10-10:30am on June 19, 2010 as a fitting completion to the Year for Priests. These gatherings have been approved by the local diocesan authorities and Cathedral staff. The laity will meet to pray five decades of the Rosary for priests, under the icons of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and under the patronage of St. John Vianney and monk St. Romuald. With five markers for the effort: encouragement, thanksgiving, solidarity, obedience, and Love, the Rosary for Priests gathering is a spiritual action on behalf of our priests.
Rosary for Priests presently has efforts organized at the cathedrals of the following dioceses: San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and Santa Rosa. They encourage the faithful in other dioceses to request permission to hold Rosary for Priests prayer gatherings at their own Cathedrals, and invite as many people as possible to join together in prayer.
