Turns Out a Lot of Evangelicals are Becoming Catholic 2014-12-31T15:21:34-07:00

This piece is a sort of quasi-sociological look at the phenom, but at the end it basically gives away the secret of why otherwise sane people would do this crazy thing:

Ultimately, [Thomas] Howard concluded that the question that matters most is “What is the Church?” His answer, like that of Hahn, Grodi and Talbot, and now of Croslow, Dunn, and White, is that the “one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic church”—the historical, traditional Church—can only be the Roman Catholic Church.

Tom Howard’s Evangelical is Not Enough was, by the way, one of the seminal influences in bringing me miles closer to the Catholic Church. I owe him a debt I will never be able to repay. One of the great thrills of my life was having the chance to meet him on a couple of occasions. A great (and very charming) man.
