Luke the Nordic Giant, Finder of Strange Things…

informs me of two happy bits of news.

First, yesterday, September 6, 2010, a date which will live in infancy, Lucy the Cuteness was suddenly and deliberately attacked by a spasm of actual walking. She took three steps on her own, and then later gained the confidence to take several more.

The universe has just changed.

Here’s a trailer for Wordplay, the documentary about the world crossword puzzle championships. I actually, literally, factually cried more than one time while watching this film. It’s more amazing than you will believe without watching it for yourself.

And while we’re talking up weird docs, you should also Netflix “Pucker Up! The Fine Art of Whistling.” It is a documentary about the world whistling championships. It’s obscure enough I can’t even find a trailer online. Rest assured, you are one of the fourteen people in the world who will actually enjoy this film.
