Keep up the good work. Thought you might enjoy this email I sent to my kids’ school. Feel free to post, comment, and ask for prayers.
Dear Vice Principal XXXXXX,
Thank you for your service at XXXXXXXXX Elementary. My kids, XXXX Jr and XXXXXX, are very happy there. We regularly go through their back packs to see what they have learned, and we are proud of their work.
However, recently my wife brought something to my attention that concerns me and the other moms at our bus stop: our kids have been listening to questionable radio music on the way home. Some of the material, even though bleeped out for public use, is not something we want our kids exposed to.
We discovered this when my daughter asked, “Mommy, is this song bad: There’s a place down place downtown…It’s a hole in the wall, it’s a dirty free for all.” She then quoted the chorus to another song by Emminem, “Just gonna stand there and watch me cry? That’s ok because I like the way it hurts.”
I appreciate your service. I appreciate our bus driver’s attempt to make the ride home a fun one. However, I fear this is a bit too much. I propose that music on the bus be limited to either music sung in music class or strictly music without lyrics.
Thanks you so much for your prompt work on this issue.
May God bless your work in trying to bring a bit of sanity to our culture. And may God bless your efforts to teach your child how to be good and holy through Jesus Christ.
