Friends don’t let materialist technicians do philosophy

The invaluable Mike Flynn offers education to materialist technicians who, yet again, attempt the absurd project of persuading you to freely accept the notion that you have no freedom of the will.

I think anybody who has chosen to make themselves that stupid is probably, apart from a work of grace, too stupid to see Flynn’s point. But it’s a special kind of stupid, born not in the intellect but, ironically, in the will. People will go very far in making themselves stupid when the underlying goal is to shore up their atheism with quack materialist philosophy.

That said, Flynn’s discussion is very valuable for people who are seeking actual wisdom and not merely a pseudo-scientific rationale for their atheist materialism.
