Latest Update on Lorna

From her sis:

“Looks like her OR is getting cleaned, so she may go in really soon.”

If not, she’ll be going in around noon. Either way, it’s happening soon, it’s just hard to get a straight answer about time. Understandably, though. ICUs never go as expected.

Let me just say that I love the nurses and doctors of HUP. They are my new best friends, probably because I spend 90% of my life with them, but also because they are so cool. I’m really happy that Lorna’s here in one of the best hospitals in the world and not somewhere crappy. I cannot say enough times how grateful my whole family is for the awesome care she’s getting. HUP is da best.

Also, for those of you who keep telling me to sleep, I left the hospital and slept last night. Now everyone can focus their worries on Lorna! Hooray! Also, Lorna had a good night and has been sleeping ever since I got here. She is a rockstar.

Pray for good surgery! Updates as soon as she’s done!

Father, hear our continued prayer for a good surgery and swift healing through Christ our Lord. Amen! Mother Mary, pray for Lorna, her caregivers and all who love her.

Update:

Even as I speak, there are about 5 people who are taking her down to the OR. She’s being really, really brave, but I can tell she’s scared. I read her Wallace Stevens poetry (Kelsey, I got through most of the Man with the Blue Guitar!) and she slept a little, and now she’s going on her big trip! Prayers for it to go so, so well! She is now detached from all her machines and they are wheeling her out now. Updates once she’s done…
