Thank you very much for posting the link to my story on your website. They’ve actually changed the link url now, so it’s new address is here.

We went to Uchenna’s funeral yesterday, my wife, my son Matthew and I. It was an extraordinary occasion – much grief and many tears, but also hope. Uchenna’s family are originally from Nigeria. They are Anglicans, and part of the influx of African Christians that is transforming the churches in England, both Catholic and Anglican. It’s hard to believe – and never reported in the media – but London, that great metropolitan sink of secularism, is now the most religious part of the country. A walk through its inner and outer suburbs, through the places that people in television never visit, reveals churches springing up all over the place in disused cinemas, abandoned offices and other unlikely venues. Many of these are Pentecostal churches, but the Church of England in the capital has been reinvigorated and the Catholic Church too is being renewed. Think of the visit of the Pope, when over a hundred thousand people, from every corner of the planet, converged on Hyde Park. In contrast, the anti-Pope protest was pretty well exclusively drawn from the secular, white mediacracy.

This renewal was reflected at Uchenna’s funeral. The church was packed, and the tone was set by the astonishing eulogy delivered by Uchenna’s mother, where she affirmed, through her tears, her deepest trust in God and her handing over of her son to His care. I have never heard anything more moving, nor more filled with the deepest trust – a trust tempered by the worst that a parent can endure. Please thank your readers for their prayers, and if you can, ask them to continue praying for Uchenna and his family.

God be praised for his faithful saints, through our Lord Jesus Christ. Grant peace, healing and consolation to Uchenna family, eternal rest to his soul, and many good fruits in the community that has received the witness of his amazing family.
