It’s funny. Simcha Fisher was asking for impressions of Opus Dei the other day. I didn’t have time to get involved in that discussion but I gotta say that, with the exception of one guy who sort of fit the “oddly secretive” caricature of OD, I’ve met nothing but good people there. Indeed, some of my closest friends, as well as Catholics whom I highly admire as bright, charitable, witty and orthodox are members. The scorn that’s heaped on them by their enemies has always mystified me. This priest, like most OD folk I’ve met, looks and sounds to me like the real deal. God bless your work in the Vineyard, padre!
