Prayer Request

A reader writes:

I would be very grateful if you would put up a prayer request for my father-in-law. He was diagnosed last summer with stage IV lung cancer which had spread to his brain. He has had dozens of radiation treatments which seemed to at least be keeping things in check, but last week he was back in the hospital after several seizures. They found a new, larger tumor on his brain (to go with the 6 they already knew about), and he is confused and having trouble concentrating and processing information since then. Some of the family is assuming this is a lead-up to the end. Please pray for his health and mind to recover, and for my wife’s strength as well; she lost her mother in 2003, before she turned 21.

Father, hear our prayer through Jesus Christ that you would help this man face and pass through what lies ahead and come to you at last. Grant grace, consolation and strength to his daughter and all who love him and grant skill to his caregivers through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for him.
