If you are on Facebook, you may have already seen this, but I wanted to take the bold move and ask if any of you would consider making a contribution to a fund we’ve set up for Joshua in order to go to DIR/Floortime Summer Day Camp.  This camp is a treatment camp that would help Joshua with his autism treatment, focusing more on social skills.  Here is a link to learn more about this camp:  http://www.rosemarywhitepediatricservices.com/summer_camps.html
We had applied for a grant for the $2100 it costs to send him to this camp, but were not approved, just finding out on Saturday.  This is where you come in.

A friend told me of this website where folks could contribute to a fund that we set up with Paypal and I thought we would give it a chance.  I know folks are interested in how he is doing, and in regards to the day to day, he is making some progress, but there are good days and better days.  His diet and the supplements are helping, I’m sure of it, but the treatment is where it is at and we simply don’t have the resources to get all the treatment we would like for him in addition to the help he gets from the Northshore School District.  Anyway, here is a link to the website where you can contribute to helping send Joshua to summer camp.  Even a contribution as little as $5 can help considering the number of people we are blessed to have placed footprints on our hearts.  http://joshuawhughes.chipin.com/joshua-hughes-to-go-to-dirfloortime-camp.  Camp starts on July 18th, but since we need to pay for the camp before it starts, I’m asking to have this go until July 11th.  Any contributions you would like to make, go directly to a Paypal account I’ve set up for Josh.

I will be posting updates on FB and his blog as to how the fundraising is progressing as well as how Josh does at camp.

I was searching for a scripture that gives a picture of my plea as a mother and I came across Matthew 15:21-28 that seems to fit quite well:

9 Then Jesus went from that place and withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.”

23 But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, “Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.”

24 10 He said in reply, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

25 But the woman came and did him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.”

26 He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children 11 and throw it to the dogs.”

27 She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.”

28 Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! 12 Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

I humbly and gratefully thank you for your prayerful consideration of assisting us in sending Joshua to camp, at the very least, by your prayers.

If you can help them, that would be wonderful!
