Prayer Requests 2014-12-31T13:29:15-07:00

I have two prayer requests that I hope you will share with your readers. First, please pray for the financial wellbeing of my parish. We are a small church in predominantly rural mission territory. Mass attendance has been dwindling for sometime now, the local economy is chronically depressed, and the lousy national economy isn’t helping any. Collections have fallen off drastically, and we are concerned for our future. I will contribute what I can, but I am disabled and on a fixed income myself. I fear it would be like the widow’s mite.

Second, please pray for our deacon’s wife who will be having surgery today to determine if her cancer has returned. Lauren is the sort of person who is there with aid and comfort for everyone else but keeps her own struggles and sufferings to herself. She has helped many people, including me, through difficult and painful things over the years. I would like to return the favor if I can. Her husband Don is trying to be brave about this, but I’m sure he must be heartsick. Who wouldn’t be in such circumstances?

Thank you and your readers for their prayers.

Father and Provider, we ask that you would provide for the financial needs of this man’s parish through Christ our Lord. We also ask that Lauren’s cancer be completely healed and that you would grant her and Don the grace and peace to face the trial. Reward your daughter and her husband with the happiness of Christ though the same Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, pray for all these needs. Amen.
