A reader writes:
I have a friend who has called up and is thinking about jumping off a bridge. He thinks he has no friends or family and that no-one cares. He is tired of people not believing him. People don’t often believe him becasue he is inconsistant in his stories and he sounds as if he is confused. And it sounds as if he is lying. Not sure how to help him. He often leaves me and my wife frustrated becasue we don’t know what is true in what he says and what is not. i want to love him and be a good witness of Christ but am unsure of how to help him other then to pray and listen to him. I can’t say I believe him when what he says is untrue but want to be there for him none the less. I have a few friends like this.
Anyway i pray for the grace to be a good Witness of Christ without going too crazy and stressing out too much and that God will protect this person from his own confused and distorted perception of reality. I also pray that he rides this storm and is still living.
Thanks again and always for the prayers.
Father, hear our prayer that this man could know your love and the hope you have for him in Christ Jesus and through your body, the Church and the love of your people for him. Give your servants wisdom and peace to know how to speak to him and what to do. Give him the graces of faith, hope, and love through Jesus Christ. Mother Mary, pray for him.
