A friend writes:
Why am I seeing an ad for a book called Old World Witchcraft: Ancient Ways for Modern Days on your new blog at Patheos?
I think it might be there because you put that Pumpkin Prayer up!
Thanks a lot, GoogleAds.
Now all the Southern Baptists will come to your blog and have proof that we Catholics are all satanic idolators who practice witchcraft, worship bread, and dance around our Mary statues in the middle of the night chanting goddess spells.
If someone shows up with a truckload of Jack Chick tracts at my house, it’s all your fault, Mark Shea!
Great. Occult crap in the ad. Just what I need.
Funnily enough, I decided to take down the Pumpkin Prayer since making fun of it didn’t seem to me to be charitable, after a bit of though and prayer on’t. My apologies for needlessly mocking people who didn’t need mocked. As to the ads, I’m hoping the Patheos web elves can do something about that, though perhaps its a fitting penance to have to be embarrassed by such junk till they can torpedo them. Till then please be patient. And, Southern Baptists, cut my friend some slack. She grew up in North Carolina and got that stuff a lot from her SB neighbors. Trust me, a witchy Catholic is not a good Catholic.
