Meanwhile, now Gingrich, our Super-Intelligent Serial Adulterer and Spokesman for Traditional Marriage, seems to surging a bit as the latest NotRomney, while Cain flounders around with the sexual harrassment stuff and the fact that he is just now figuring out that China has the Bomb. But at the end of the day, it will be the Rich Android and we’ll all be told how vital it is to support him because he’s sooooo prolife.
One thing I am grateful for: this field of ridiculous dwarfs is doing everything they can to help readers understand why I think it more important for Catholics to stop whittling down their adherence to the fulness of Catholic teaching in order to get a few table scraps from the party bosses who exploit them and treat them with contempt.
To labor for 30 years to play ball with the Thing that Used to be Conservatism and have this collection of intellectual and moral midgets be all we have to show for it? And then to have the temerity to denounce anybody who will not sacrifice the fulness of Catholic teaching to this parade of talking mules as “not really Catholic[TM]” or “secretly pro-abortion”? Amazing chutzpah.

Catholics would do the country a much bigger favor if they just held on to the fulness of their own tradition against all the blandishments of politicians to sacrifice on the altar of expediency. My prayer is that we will finally figure that out and stop the folly of trying to get a seat at the table with powerful people who seek only to destroy or exploit them.
