I’m outta here till Monday but before I go I wanted to give thanks for all of youse guys for reading my musings, offering your own, praying faithfully for folks who ask, and generally being the finest groups of good, thoughtful, and engaged readers in St. Blog’s. If you are American, have a glorious and grateful Thanksgiving. If you are not, please accept my gratitude for you nonetheless and a prayer for you that you grow in gratitude to our Lord.
As a little thank offering of my own, here is a piece I wrote some time ago on the curious way in which the American heritage from our Pilgrim ancestors winds up getting oddly reconciled with Catholic faith in a way that none of the Pilgrim’s could have anticipated.
Every knee shall bow to our Eucharistic Lord. And Eucharist means “Thanksgiving”.
