Prayer Request 2014-12-30T19:08:26-07:00

A reader writes:

I need prayers and clear direction from the Holy Spirit in a situation where I am teaching religion in a Catholic high school, but we’ve had a couple of administration changes, and I have been quite open about the need to deepen the orthodox Catholic identity all around. I am a big Theology of the Body advocate and pro-life defender, and this allows some influential types to put out false information that all I want to teach about is sex and abortion. I am supporting a wife and 4 young children, all I want is to be an advocate for the Church in my family and in my work- I am stressing out over the possibility of getting laid off with a mortgage keeping me in a bit of an economic trap- I know the solution is more prayer and staying on message as an orthodox Catholic to follow my conscience- so I am asking for more prayers from you and your audience where I believe many righteous and merciful souls congregate. I love participating in the prayer requests you posts, and now I find myself needing some additional spiritual help too. God Bless You.

Father, we ask that you would guard this man by your holy angels and that you would guard and prosper him and his family as he seeks to do your will. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for him! We ask this throught Christ our Lord.

Ave, Dark Lord.

First, the good news.

A while back a sent you a prayer request regarding a priest at our parish who struggles with alcoholism. I am happy to report that he has returned from treatment, is back to active ministry, and appears to be doing quite well. 🙂

Second, the prayer request.

I am currently applying to FSSP’s seminary. Unfortunately, I have severe food allergies, and I’ve been told that this presents a serious obstacle to me being accepted. If you feel so inclined, ask for J.R.R. Tolkien’s intercession on the matter. (I’d love to see him canonised).

Finally, a friend of mine has written a short story involving the pope, vampires, and werewolves. Don’t worry, it’s pro-Catholic. 🙂

Sadly it’s only available through Kindle now.

If you could mention it on your blog, I would be grateful. It will help a Catholic artist who is trying to evangelize the culture.

Father, we praise you and thank you for hearing our prayer. Hear our prayer now that this man overcome his food allergies and make it through the seminary to serve you! Mother Mary and St. Jean Vianney. We ask this through Jesus Christ.
