A reader writes:
A friend of mine has fallen on very hard times.
Some background:
My friend converted to Catholicism 4 years ago. It’s probably the only real break she’s had in life. As of now, she’s unemployed and living with her parents, both of whom are on fixed income and not in the best of health. If anything happens to them, she has no place to go, save for the streets. She genuinely wants to discern religious life, but none of the convents within reach will take her because of her college debt. She has few friends aside from me, and is feeling very lonely and afraid.
Please offer prayers. The woman is like family to me.
Also, any other help your readers could provide would be appreciated. She’s had security guard training, is a more than halfway decent artist, and she’s written a lovely novella series about about a clumsy Cardinal set in 19th Century Italy . She’s willing to do any sort of work, really. If any of your readers in her area (Lake Wales, Florida) would be willing to hire someone like that, let me know, and I’ll provide contact info.
Father, hear our prayer that she find a good job with a living wage swiftly, through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for her!
