“Prolife” Hero Dick Cheney doesn’t care that we tortured an innocent prisoner to death

Host Chuck Todd asked Cheney to respond to the Senate Intelligence Committee report’s account that one detainee was “chained to the wall of a cell, doused with water, froze to death in CIA custody.”

“And it turned out it was a case of mistaken identity,” Todd said.

“Right,” Cheney responded. “But the problem I have was with all of the folks that we did release that end up back on the battlefield.”

“I’m more concerned with bad guys who got out and released than I am with a few that in fact were innocent,” he continued.

Todd pressed Cheney, asking if he was okay with the fact that about 25 percent of the detainees interrogated were actually innocent.

“I have no problem as long as we achieve our objective. And our objective is to get the guys who did 9/11 and it is to avoid another attack against the United States,” Cheney responded.

The standard Torture Defender response to this cowardly Machiavellianism from five time draft dodger Cheney is the Brutal Realism argument from people whose knowledge of war comes from play a heckuva lot of Call of Duty and watching 24:  “War is hell.  Gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet, etc.  We have to be as ruthless as our enemy. Pantywaists like you have no idea what Real War is like” What it boils down to is, “Sure, let’s torture and kill innocents to save our skins.”  This, being translated, is “Since we are already fine with torturing and murdering innocent adults, and since our enemies torture and murder children, let’s imitate our enemies and torture and kill children to save our skins.  I nominate somebody else’s son or daughter to do this on the orders of our Ruling Class.  Then I nominate them for lifelong PTSD, breakdown, homelessness, and neglect by the VA.  Support the troops!”
