It is amazing how many wrongful convictions there are out there in our prison population that now exceeds Stalin’s. If your approach to the death penalty is “Better the innocent should die than the guilty not be killed” you are not thinking as a Christian.
I’m looking at you, SCOTUS.
Here, by the way is “prolife” Justice Alito’s reasoning in supporting the use of a drug that led to several agonizing and protracted executions:
“While most humans wish to die a painless death,” Justice Alito wrote for the majority, “many do not have that good fortune. Holding that the Eighth Amendment demands the elimination of essentially all risk of pain would effectively outlaw the death penalty altogether.”
The term for this is “barbarism”.
