  • An eye opening (for me) article describing the hostility shown at times by CS Lewis towards Roy Campbell. It’s hard for us to look back at those times and really know the passions that were brought up by the Spanish Civil War. Lewis was a brilliant writer, but he had his problems as we all do. He seems to have lived in an insular world surrounded by fellow dons in Oxford and Cambridge, a world that’s a million miles away from modern life in the USA and Europe.
