There is something seriously sick with the Church…

…when a bench of judges is scandalized by the merciless cruelty and lust for vengeance of an Administration whose loudest champions are self-proclaimed real Christians.

I watched last week as one Christian after another on FB cheered for meting out draconian punishments to innocents who made minor blunder or broke trivial rules. When a judge is saying “Whoa! Dial it back!” and Christians are calling for maximum legal vengeance against people for forgetting some triviality, the witness of Christians to the mercy of God is scandalously compromised. God help them if our Lord judges them with heartlessness they so eagerly dole out to the weak. The corrupting power of servitude to the power of Trump is destroying the Church’s witness in this country.
