“Because God says that he raises up and places all people in places of authority,” she continued. “It is God who raises up a king. It is God that sets one down. When you fight against the plan of God, you are fighting against the hand of God.”

CCC 676: The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.
Do I think Trump is The Antichrist? No. Do I think he is *an* antichrist? Yes. Antichrists are a dime a dozen.  You don’t need to puke pea soup to be an antichrist. You merely have to oppose Christ.
Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.
“I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think so,” he said. “I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”
Back when conservative Trump supporters got their teaching from Scripture and not Trump, they read:
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 Jn 1:8–10).
And when Bill Clinton babbled about a New Covenant, they gave him the side eye for his messianic language.  but when Trump sez:
Christianity will have power…. Because if I’m there, you’re going to have plenty of power. You don’t need anybody else.
…they don’t remember:
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them; and he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Begone, Satan! for it is written,

‘You shall worship the Lord your God
and him only shall you serve.’ ” (Mt 4:8–10).

Christianity has no fear of persecution.  It fears seduction.  The Church of Trump is a seduced Church.  It invites catastrophe.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Mt 10:28).
