The nutso Bernie Bro who did this today could not have shot anybody had he not had the same easy access to guns that the NRA fights to make easily accessible to criminals, maniacs, morons, domestic abusers, jihadis, white supremacist race warriors, and convicted stalkers.

Since the murder of Martin Luther King, Jr. more Americans have died at the hands of Americans wielding guns than in every war since 1776. But we have a long standing division in our minds that as long as the slaughter of Americans is done domestically and not outsourced to foreigners, everything is fine. We deploy a host of absolutely stupid fallacies to make sure the slaughter continues unabated and those are all being trotted out at this hour. But the bottom line remains that guns make it much easier to kill and injure a lot of people very quickly, as well as make temporary suicidal impulses into eternal choices.

“Here we have to ask ourselves: Why are deadly weapons being sold to those who plan to inflict untold suffering on individuals and society? Sadly, the answer, as we all know, is simply for money: money that is drenched in blood, often innocent blood. In the face of this shameful and culpable silence, it is our duty to confront the problem and to stop the arms trade.” – Pope Francis’ Address to Congress

This is a prolife issue.

The Gun Cult can now commence its standard practice of shouting “Don’t politicize this tragedy by trying to prevent the next one!” followed immediately by the attempt to politicize the tragedy by shouting “MOAR GUNS WILL SOLVE THIS!” Classic two step.
